We encourage our customers to compare not only the price of diamond earrings, but also the quality of the craftsmanship, the stones and the roughness of the setting/pin. This is something that can differ greatly between Swedish-made and the more common imported diamond earrings.

What quality of diamond should you choose for your diamond earrings?

A diamond lasts forever and can be seen as a symbol of your love! We buy diamonds directly from Antwerp, the diamond center of the world. This way we can offer you as a customer diamonds at favorable prices! For most people, buying a diamond is a new experience. It can feel uncertain when you don't know much about diamonds, but it's actually not that difficult to understand what determines character, quality and price. A diamond is judged by the "4 Cs" which we will go through below. This is especially important when you are looking at a larger diamond. Many of our larger diamonds come with a certificate that an independent institute has valued according to the "4C"

Diamantörhängen kvalité färg

How does the color of the diamond affect the look of your earrings? (COLOR)

The color grading of a diamond actually refers to the absence of color. In other words, diamonds that contain little or no color receive higher quality grading than those with visible color. When talking about the color of a diamond, it is usually on a scale from colorless to yellow. A colorless diamond is the rarest. If you're looking at a larger diamond, it's a good idea to go up in quality without the price going up.

INCLUSIONS (CLARITY)

Inclusions in the diamond are assessed with a loupe at 10 times magnification. Most diamonds have inclusions of varying sizes. Inclusions are natural, formed during the formation of the stone from carbon under high pressure millions of years ago deep in the earth's glowing interior. The most common causes of inclusions in diamonds are nitrogen atoms and iron that have penetrated the stone and caused brown or black spots. A diamond that is completely free of inclusions is most rare. This is the one of the "C's" of quality that affects the price the most compared to diamonds of the same size.

CUTTING (CUT)
You can say that a diamond is cut like a mirror, the light should come from above and bounce down in the diamond and reflect back up and give glitter in the stone. The cut is a collective name for symmetry, polish and grinding and is measured according to the scale next to it. Many consider cut to be the most important characteristic of a diamond. The quality of the cut greatly affects the beauty of the diamond.

Diamantörhängen kvalité carat

What carat should I choose for my diamond earrings?

Carat is a measure of the weight of the diamond (not the size) and is the single most important determinant of a diamond's economic value. This is the one of the "4Cs" that people tend to focus on the most, but keep in mind that the other "4Cs" also affect the price. The term carat comes from the Latin name for the carob tree. The kernels of the carob tree are known for having the same weight. Merchants in ancient Greece used the seeds to weigh the diamonds they traded. One carat weighs 0.2 grams.
