Checklist / Things to consider / FAQ when buying a bracelet

We have many customers who call and are very confused in their choice of bracelet, choice of supplier and what is different. And we understand them, it is a jungle. Many customers are most focused on the carat weight of the bracelet and that is probably the easiest thing as a layman to compare, but there is so much more that affects.
Feel free to call us on 0455-108 24 if you want help.
Below we have tried to put together some points we often get asked about.

- What does carat weight mean

is the total diamond weight of all the stones, what to look for here is how many stones this "weight" is spread over. If there are many small stones, it often becomes a narrow bracelet versus its total weight. Which comparatively becomes a cheaper bracelet, versus a bracelet with fewer and larger stones of the same total weight.

- Prices and pricing

We have done our utmost to combine a really good product at a really good price. Please note that we price our bracelets according to the length you order/finally choose. Some online players price their bracelets in 18.5cm (a very unusual and long length), then keep in mind that if you later change to a shorter length e.g. 16.5cm loses 10% of carat weight and value.

- Used bracelets vs new tennis bracelets

Here you should be extra careful in your choice, a bracelet with many parts can be worn. If you do not really know how the previous owner has used the bracelet, it can be an expensive story. If it has been worn for a long time daily and possibly been too long, it may be that it is approaching its full life. The cost of removing the stones and replacing them with a new bracelet can be substantial. Buying a bracelet is an investment and something you want to pass on to the next generation.

- Which supplier should you choose?

The perennial question that many customers are rushed to answer. Here we are clearly biased, so the best advice we can give is to choose a supplier you feel safe with and know their thing and product. A bracelet like this sells itself, it's wonderful, and today there is everything from Influencers, Bloggers to foreign online retailers who sell these beauties. Price is often a decisive factor, but we also want to point out the importance of buying from a supplier who knows their stuff and product. This is particularly important for the future, in the event of repairs, service, etc. That the supplier can perform such things himself and does not have to seek and rely on external expertise, possibly sending bracelets abroad for repair / return.

- Wear and use

A tennis bracelet is a very beautiful piece of jewelry and as a goldsmith you find it so boring when you make fine jewelry for customers that the jewelry is not used. Most often because customers do not dare to use the jewelry because it is "too nice". So we want to say, use it. BUT use it sensibly. Do not use it when you train, exercise, "are in the country" etc. As gold is a soft material, a tennis bracelet, like other gold bracelets, is sensitive to wear. The bracelet also has many "joints" that hook into each other and these can eventually become worn. It is usually next to the clasp that bracelets generally need reinforcement over time.

What length should I choose for tennis bracelets?

-We have chosen to stock 17.5cm in length, which we believe is the most viable length. We also provide exchange rights / open purchase for this length. If you are planning to give a beautiful bracelet as a gift, we suggest that you choose this length. Then, after the gift is given and appreciated, we can make one in the right length, if it does not fit.
-If you want to order the right length from the start, it is also possible, feel free to contact us for advice and we will send a set of sample bracelets to test out the length. A rule of thumb when testing bracelets is to get a finger between the bracelet and the arm. Generally, you can measure the circumference of the wrist and add about 1.3cm. Then it is personal how tight / light you want the bracelet to sit. A bracelet fits slightly tighter on the arm than a regular bracelet, if you have 18cm in other bracelets, 17.5cm fits best. Please note, when we manufacture a length beyond our "standard length", special terms of purchase apply and neither exchange rights / open purchase apply. There are additional delivery times on lengths we do not have in stock.

Diamond quality & Material in the bracelets

Made in 18k gold in Italy, which is an EU country and subject to the EU's strict regulations on nickel. Nickel is a substance often used in white gold to get a white surface. This is found in bracelets made outside the EU. We are now on our 6th manufacturer of bracelets and only now do the bracelets meet all the criteria on our checklist we have built up over the years.
Our diamonds are brilliant cut diamonds and have a quality of TW/SI2 (We have 2 different suppliers of diamonds and buy from both a mix between quality TW/SI1 and TW/SI2). This is the same quality that most others use.
The diamonds are brilliant cut and conflict free. We manufacture to order in other qualities. You are welcome with a price request for other qualities.

As a customer, you can sit and compare back and forth without understanding the differences. In the end, it may be a question of trust in the supplier you choose.

Curiosity
The slightly different name came about after a famous tennis player lost her diamond bracelet during a 1987 US Open match. She interrupted the match and exclaimed "I dropped my tennis bracelet". This tennis match became legendary and a new category in jewelry was born. This bracelet is a perfect gift for anniversaries or birthdays. Sometimes this bracelet is called the Riviera bracelet.
